Resorts Casino signed a deal with European software companies Sportech and NYX Gaming in its bid to join the current New Jersey online gambling niche. The deal with SNG Interactive, which is under the umbrella of Sportech and NYX Gaming, includes the development of online gambling software to run ResortsCasino.com. The online counterpart of Resorts’ brick and mortar company is “real money” online gaming. In the offing is its 2015 launch date.

Resorts Casino was given an online gambling license by the state of New Jersey, but as of this writing has not launched an online casino product. Sportech and NYX Gaming Group have each invested $2 million for the development of a new platform for ResortsCasino.com. It was confirmed that players will be offered online slots, roulette and blackjack. Online poker might be offered on a later date.

Resorts Casino signed a deal with PokerStars in June 2013. However, the license application process of PokerStars was suspended sometime in December 2013 because of Rational Media’s legal problems with the U.S. government. Rational Media is the parent company of PokerStars and FullTilt. As a result of the well-documented Black Friday case, PokerStars has voluntary paid the U.S. government more than $700 million in fines. As we reported earlier, Amaya has bought PokerStars for $4.9 Billion in a move to get back into the US market as Amaya is licensed in the state of New Jersey.

In connection, Resorts Casino’s online gambling casino has been hanging in suspension. The partnership with Sportech and NYX Gaming is Resorts Casino’s pass to enter New Jersey’s online gambling community. Sportech and NYX Gaming are expected to work with Amaya Gaming Group’s PokerStars and FullTilt Poker for world-class online gaming support for Resorts Casino online gambling. It is speculated that Sportech and NYX Gaming will supply the software for ResortsCasino.com up until the time when PokerStars and FullTilt are given the license to operate in New Jersey at which time poker will be added.
