This is because while they occupy the identical positions to the board game, the probability of landing on each is calculated for a single trip around the board. In addition to the awards and penalties you collect as you make your way around the board, your overall win (or loss) is calculated as the net of those wins/loses and any rent collected, against the total amount you have invested (wagered) for those property acquisitions. Yes, it is possible to lose money in the bonus game. Very possible. One way that players can swing the odds in their favor is by landing on Go at the end of their trip around the board. This will grant a second trip and obviously increase the rent income. However, clearly, your chance of activating the second lap, and thereby making the game Monopoly “twice” Around Deluxe, is a mathematical long shot.
